Welcome to the Association for Children's Spirituality website

The Association for Children's Spirituality aims to promote research and practice in relation to children's spirituality, and to facilitate communication between those involved in such research and practice.

The Association understands spirituality broadly and inclusively as having relation to the religious and beyond the religious. It aims to promote the importance of children's spirituality both within education and within wider contexts of children's care and wellbeing.

It seeks to give attention to children's voices, experiences and relationships, and to encourage holistic approaches to children's spirituality and personal development across disciplines, professions, organisations and communities.

The Association was launched in 2006 in response to the success of the International Journal of Children's Spirituality and the annual International Conferences on Children's Spirituality.

To find out more about becoming a member of the Association, which includes the International Journal of Children's Spirituality, please visit the membership page.

The Honorary President of the Association is Dr Jack Priestley, who has contributed to the cause of children's spirituality throughout his career and been a leading figure in its promotion in the field of education. Jack's Brief Introduction to the Notion of the Spiritual illustrates the aims and values of the Association.
