Working with Schools

The members of the Children and Worldviews Project have been working with teachers in primary and secondary schools to assist staff in addressing issues of spiritual and moral education.

Where schools have had Ofsted reports which criticise their provision for the children’s spiritual and moral development, we have been asked to help with the construction of post Ofsted action plans and the staff development involved in the implementation of such plans and we are happy to do this.

We are also happy to work with schools or clusters to demonstrate how to address children’s spirituality and children’s stories more directly, within Religious Education, within PHSE or across the curriculum.

Another session we can offer shows how to use art to allow children to express and develop their spiritual awareness.

Our most recent work has been in developing a sheet to record children’s developing skills of Emotional Literacy (Developing Emotional Literacy - A resource book for spiritual, moral and emotional education in school) and we would be glad to talk about this in schools.
